Newham’s Landlord Licensing Scheme approved for an unprecedented third 5-year term

Newham’s Selective Licensing scheme has been approved by the Secretary of State for Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities for an unprecedented third 5-year term, making Newham Council at the forefront of championing renters rights. Coming into force from the 1st June 2023, once the existing scheme ends, the Council’s selective licensing scheme safeguards and improves housing standards for tenants.
