Large fine for no HMO licence

Haringey Council in London has successfully prosecuted a couple for failing to license a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) property, resulting in a £10,000 fine. This penalty, while substantial, is significantly less than the maximum £30,000 fine that councils can impose for such non-compliance.
