Has it escaped the gentleman that it is Section 21 abolition that is increasing airbnb and holiday lets. It was the prospect of Section 21 abolition that supercharged the loss of rental property rather than the pandemic. In other words Section 21 abolition decreases rental home choices for tenants. Endless legislation with no end in sight of it, because abolition has caused so many problems; many areas rely on tourism so increasing council tax for holiday lets will either see tourism decline or costs passed on to tourists. Registers will also see a decline in holiday lets and income for the tourist area. When will someone finally see that an improved Section 21 would be better than the escalating problems that have been caused by abolition. A monster has been created from abolition – please send a cure and not more legislation.
