Britain’s flagship heat pump scheme has been branded an “embarrassment” after badly missing its target of 30,000 annual installations and spending just 40pc of its budget. We will be encouraging government to back up their climate and housing retrofit pledges with a long-term funding scheme to support landlords and other homeowners to improve the efficiency of their homes on a Fabric First basis, as well insulated properties are a prerequisite when fitting heat pump heating.
