Frank Hardy

Those landlords who have been a member for a long time will probably remember Frank Hardy.

EMPO (East Midlands Property Owners) have announced that Frank died last week, in a short statement, they said:

It is with deep sadness and great sorrow we share the passing of EMPO’s President Frank Hardy who died last week.

Frank was known to most members and a was a friend to many. He was the reason many landlords joined EMPO and the reason I started working for the association.

Frank worked tirelessly for over 50 years in the private rented sector and was known and respected by many in our industry.

Frank built the foundations of EMPO by developing strong relationships with councils and partners and developing a range of membership benefits that attracted landlords to join EMPO. Frank is credited with positioning EMPO as one of the most progressive landlord associations in the UK.

His wonderful personality, knowledge and boundless talents will be missed by the directors, staff, and members of EMPO.

In addition to his work in the Midlands, Frank did a lot of work across the country, especially under the banner of the NFRL (National Federation of Residential Landlords), and that is where the SPLA (precursor to iHowz) first met him.

We wish his family well.
