These Regulations, which come into force on 20 July 2022, support the leaseholder protection provisions in sections 116 to 125 of, and Schedule 8 to, the Building Safety Act 2022 (the Act).
Those sections make provision in relation to remediation of certain defects in buildings over 11 metres in height (or of at least 5 storeys). In particular, the provisions include protections from liability for leaseholders in specific circumstances.
