Judicial Review granted on Right to Rent policy

The Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (JCWI) has led a bid for a review of the legality of the Right to Rent checks, arguing that the scheme has prevented some disadvantaged British citizens, those lacking passports and driving licences, have been prevented from obtaining a tenancy, while others in minority groups have been discriminated against.

On June 6th the High Court have granted permission for ajudicial review to be launched into the Government’s Right to Rent policy.
